Silex To Market Fingerprint Authentication Sensors In U.S.

Printer server manufacturer Silex Technology Inc. will sell its fingerprint authentication sensors in the U.S.

HIGASHI OSAKA -- Printer server manufacturer Silex Technology Inc. (6679) will sell its fingerprint authentication sensors in the U.S.

The company's local subsidiary Silex Technology America Inc. recently signed a reseller agreement with Fujitsu Microelectronics America Inc. (FMA), a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd. (6702).

Under the agreement, FMA will market three Silex fingerprint-authentication products in the U.S., including a PC card type and a model that is integrated with a smart card reader.

Silex has been marketing fingerprint authentication sensors in Japan since 2002, and annual sales have now surpassed 100 million yen.

FMA will also integrate the Silex products in systems that will be sold in the markets of North America and South America.
