Diebold integrators to include AWID prox readers and biometric devices in their offerings

Diebold and AWID have formed an agreement that will allow Diebold channel integrators to add AWID to their line of offerings. The AWID proximity readers for access control and the AWID biometric devices will now be part of the technology cache that Diebold integrators can propose to clients.

The deal with AWID means access to a wide range of technology for prox-based access control, and the company's development of the CBio fingerprint reader means even further depth in offerings of access control devices. Diebold says it will specifically offer those systems to potential customers in the banking, retail, government and education markets.

"This new relationship with a high-quality integrator like Diebold expands our presence in the commercial sector," said AWID Chairman and CEO Donny Lee in a statement about the agreement. "And AWID and Diebold complement each other in the GSA markets, given that both companies hold a Federal Supply Schedule from GSA."
