New Medical Complex Breaks Ground in Pearland, Texas

2005 NOV 16 - (NewsRx.com) -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held in celebration of a new medical office and outpatient surgery facility coming to Pearland, Texas.

Building construction for the Medical Commons of Pearland will soon begin on a 15-acre site. The two class-A medical office buildings will comprise a total of 80,000 square feet of clinical office space. Mayor Tom Reid, the Pearland Economic Development Corporation, the Pearland Area Chamber of Commerce, and other city officials attended the event and expressed their enthusiasm for the project.

The Medical Commons of Pearland is a master-planned, class-A medical office campus. The facilities will house several medical specialties, such as family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, and orthopedics, to name a few. This strategically developed project includes plans for an ambulatory surgery center, a diagnostic imaging center, and a laboratory patient services center. Surgis, Inc., a surgical services provider, will operate the outpatient surgery center.

The dDiagnostic imaging services will be provided by Touchstone Medical Imaging, LLC. Touchstone currently operates several imaging facilities in six states, including seven sites in Texas. The convenient onsite lab will be operated by Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp).
