PSA Security Network held its 2005 Convention at the Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club on Kalapaki Beach in Kaua'i, Hawaii, focusing on networking between PSA members, staff and vendor sponsors.

Held October 21-25, 2005, 76 owners and senior managers from 52 member companies and representatives from 16 vendor sponsor companies gathered for business meetings, education, and social activities.

During the stockholders' meeting, members approved several by-law changes including the addition of a fifth voting region that will provide better representation as more members join PSA. In addition, directors will now have term limits and be elected in the spring instead of the fall.

"This year's business meeting was undoubtedly the most important we have ever held," said PSA president and CEO, Bill Bozeman, CPP. "The PSA directors, management team, and the governance, marketing, and CEO roundtable committees have been working to create programs that will allow PSA and its members to prosper in our rapidly changing industry."

During the President's Award Dinner, PSA handed out a number of awards including the Paul Marcus Award which was presented to Jim Taylor of White & Associates in recognition of his outstanding service to PSA. The Top Purchaser Awards were given to Selectron (Western Region), Henry Brothers Electronics (Northeast Region), Guardian Alarm (Midwest Region) and Tech Systems, Inc. (Southern Region). Tech Systems also won the national Top Purchaser Award.

The Highest Revenue Increase Awards went to Security Integrators (Midwest Region), Texas Technical Services (Western Region), T&R Alarm Systems (Northeast Region) and Trans-American Security (Midwest Region). Trans-American also won the national award. In addition, Excellence Awards were given to people that served on committees.

Sponsors of the PSA 2005 Convention included Altronix, AMAG, Bosch, CSC, Dedicated Micros, deView, GE, HID, Honeywell, Integral Technologies, IR Safety & Security, IFS, MDI Security, Panasonic, Pelco and TransTech Systems.

"With the 2005 Convention, PSA brought together a selection of the top integration and manufacturing segments of the security industry," added Bozeman. "The time our members spent sharing ideas and experiences with the best in the business is already having a positive impact on their bottom line."

Dates and location for next year's conference will be announced soon.
