OTI Reinstated in U.S. Electronic Passport Project

Dec. 7, 2005
Company had previously been eliminated by Government Printing Office

Despite being eliminated by the Government Printing Office (GPO) from the U.S. electronic passport program, On Track Innovations (OTI), a smart card solution company, is back in the process again.

The company filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C., when its earlier testing contract was terminated. The decision by the Federal Claims court reinstates OTI's earlier contract and requires the GPO to begin testing OTI's products at the point where they were being tested when the contract was terminated.

The testing will help determine who will supply the technology and services needed for the government's forthcoming e-passport project.
