Brian David Beninati of Biloxi, Miss., has been arrested on an embezzlement charge that accuses him of stealing a deposit of $800 from the store safe at the Big Lots retail store on D'Iberville Boulevard, sheriff's officials said.
The criminal complaint from the store's loss prevention office alleges Beninati had access to the safe in his position as closing manager. Deputies arrested him at the store Saturday.
Beninati, 42, of Tux River Circle, was held at the Harrison County jail. Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray set his bond at $2,500.
