2004 ADI Expo Series Event Wrap-Up

Dec. 13, 2004
A report from the grand finale event of the 2004 ADI Expo series

Over 200 security dealers converged on the ADI Expo held at the Huntington Hilton, Long Island, N.Y., on Dec. 9. It marked the final ADI Expo of 2004, culminating a 39-city tour that swept across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.

The training and technical seminars held throughout the morning and afternoon drew over 100 attendees. Topics covered included distributed audio, home theater, the convergence of digital recording and access control, and home automation. Other offerings included how to sell IP, biometric technology, and structured cabling guidelines. The Expo doors opened at 4 p.m. and put dealers face to face with over 75 exhibiting manufacturers spanning access control, burglar alarms, intrusion detections systems, CCTV, fire alarms, sound, telephony and structured cabling.

"The ADI Expo experience is not just about attending; it's about taking away knowledge that can be put to work to increase profits right away," says Ronnie Schauder, ADI's director of marketing relations. "ADI wants to make sure dealers can increase sales beyond what they are doing today, so they'll be in a position to grow and prosper tomorrow." The training and interaction with manufacturers and their products that are accessible through the ADI Expos provide a means for dealers to do just that.

Guests enjoyed a buffet dinner, raffles and holiday tunes. In the spirit of the holidays, over three huge boxes for Toys for Tots were filled at ADI's local branches and corporate headquarters. ADI staff, customers and dealers gave generously, gathering $1,000 worth of toys for needy children. The local division of the Marines put in an appearance at the Expo to enjoy the festivities and personally thank everyone for their generosity.

Because it was the last Expo of the season, it was also the last opportunity for dealers to enter into the drawing for the Big Ticket Sweepstakes. The lucky winner and a guest will be whisked off to Super Bowl XXXIX, scheduled for Feb. 6 in Jacksonville, Fla.

ADI's 2005 Expo program kicks off February 8th in Orlando, Fla. Look for dates of the ADI Expo series soon on the SecurityInfoWatch.com events calendar.
