Verint Systems, a Melville, N.Y.-based video systems developer, has reported record sales for its first quarter 2005, up 27 percent over the same quarter in 2004.

The company recorded sales of $72,039,000 for the quarter, which was up 4.4 percent over Q4 2004 ($69,030,000). Net income was $6.5 million for Q1 2005, slightly down from $6.7 million in net income for Q4 2004.

Dan Bodner, Verint's president and CEO, attributed the boost in sales for the first quarter 2005 to increased interest in the video analytics market.
