Surveillance camera captures theft; thief arrested before store owner could even make it to store

A burglar looking for cash drove a U-Haul truck through the front of the Q Mart convenience store in the 2100 block of Ridgmar Boulevard in Fort Worth early Sunday, the store owner said.

Daniel Hussein received a call from the company that monitors his store's alarm system at about 5 a.m., informing him of the unusual burglary. He arrived at the store to find the truck still wedged inside.

"I was shocked," said Hussein, who has owned the neighborhood store for eight years. "I'd never seen anything like that in my life."

Hussein said a surveillance video showed the driver stealing money from the cash register.

Police had already arrested a suspect by the time Hussein reached the store, he said.

Information on the suspect's identity and the charges he faced was not available Sunday afternoon.
