$10 Million Worth of Medical Office Space Planned Near Cincinnati

Paul Hemmer Companies said Wednesday it would break ground next month on a $10 million project to build two office buildings on Five Mile Road in Anderson Township.

It's a rare step across the Ohio River by Fort Mitchell-based Hemmer, one of Northern Kentucky's largest commercial construction and development firms.

"We absolutely want to build more medical office buildings," on both sides of the river, said Jack Levermann, vice president of real estate and development.

The two-story buildings will be on a 5-acre site, formerly a Thriftway supermarket, at the recently redeveloped Anderson Towne Center.

One 28,000-square-foot building will be entirely leased by Group Health Associates, a large multi-specialty medical practice. The second 45,000-square-foot building will be offered for lease to medical and professional office tenants.

"With a highly visible site such as this and close proximity to Mercy Hospital, demand for high-class office space among the medical community is evident," Levermann said.

Construction on the buildings, named Anderson Professional Center, will begin as soon as permits are issued. Completion for the brick and glass buildings is slated for next October.
