LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Three Norwalk men were charged Friday with multiple counts of armed robbery in connection with 41 hotel heists throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties, officials said.

Mickey McMahan, 28; David Martinez Jr., 21; and Marques Samuel Taylor, 23, were scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 17 in Long Beach Superior Court.

McMahan faces 15 counts of first-degree robbery with allegations that he used a handgun and one count of receiving stolen property.

Martinez faces six first-degree robbery counts, also with the handgun allegations, while Taylor is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery. All three were being held on bail.

The robberies, which began in May, occurred across the region.

In one case, a surveillance camera captured two people hauling a safe away on a luggage cart.

Los Angeles County sheriffs deputies arrested the men Wednesday, a day after authorities held a news conference to publicize the case.

The men were caught thanks to a tip from the public, said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.
