A Minnesota-based company will double the size of its Greer operations by consolidating its two facilities there. Lindstrom Metric, along with subsidiary Mega Metric, will build a 172,000-square-foot manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service center on 10 acres at the Jetport Business Park near I-85 and Highway 14. The facility will replace Lindstrom Metric's 4,000-square-foot sales office and warehouse on East Phillips Road and Mega Metric's 40,000-square-foot manufacturing, warehousing and office facility next door. The two companies employ 70 combined. Officials with Lindstrom Metric, which specializes in distribution of standard and special metric fasteners to industry, said Greer was the best choice for the facility. The company also has locations in Minnesota, New York and Illinois. "Our Greer operations have been very successful," said Virg Lindstrom, president of both companies. "As we evaluated our business model, we realized that consolidating two operations to one facility provides us with better efficiencies and potentials for the future. "The community provides us with a great location, great access to our customers and materials, and great employees." Larry Wilson, chairman of the Greer Development Corp., said the businesses are important to Greer. "The Greer community is committed to supporting this company as they grow in the area." Roebuck Buildings will provide construction services for the new facility.
