New Casino Planned for San Jose, Calif.

Sept. 7, 2004
A report in the San Jose Mercury News says that ''Nevada-style gambling emporium is in the cards" for San Jose. The story, which appeared in the Monday edition of the paper, said that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently signed a compact with the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians for a 2,500-slot machine casino. The area around the proposed casino, including the land that includes Moose Lodge No. 550, has seen a great deal of appreciation since then, with expectations that nearby lots may include such facilities as parking or hotels.
