Luis Ortega named CTO of Micro Key Solutions

Company’s president announces promotion in live webcast

In a special live webcast on Tuesday, Victoria Ferro, president of central station automation software provider Micro Key Solutions, announced that Luis Ortega has been named as the company's new chief technology officer.

In his new role, Ferro said that Ortega, who has been with the company for 12 years, will be responsible for helping Micro Key stay on the leading edge of technology.

As the proliferation and capabilities of mobile devices continue to advance, Ferro said that hardline, desktop computers have become a "glimmer of the past."

"The world is in an era of on-demand information. Everyone wants accessibility to information wherever we are, whenever we want it," Ferro said. "The face of the world and the face of the security alarm industry are changing as these technologies are becoming more readily available and affordable."

Ferro said that Ortega will also explore new technologies and how they can be utilized in new products that increase customer efficiency and profitability.

"I'm very excited, I'm very humbled to be called to this position," Ortega said. "In the past year, we have been working on improving the user experience, making it more efficient. "In this new phase at Micro Key, it is my goal to apply the latest and greatest technology, not just to keep making our users more efficient, but also to allow them to expand into their service and product line to make them more profitable in this hard economy by adding more features to our software and more solutions for you."
