Event raises money for the SIA Education Scholarship Fund

The Security Industry Association recently announced that it will host its ninth annual "Ride for Education" at this year's ISC West show in Las Vegas.

Scheduled to take place on March 31, the event raises money for the SIA Education Scholarship Fund, which provides grants to the first responder community for job-related education.

"Aside from the good feeling that we are helping the first responder community, this is an ideal post-ISC West stress reliever," said Jim Gingo of TransTech, one of the event's sponsor.

"The camaraderie enjoyed by the riders, the natural beauty of the terrain, the excellent SIA-sponsored catered lunch in the desert and the fun times that are had during the dinner make for great memories," added SIA Chairman Jay Hauhn of ADT.

The cost to take part is $45 per rider and $35 per passenger (does not include $125 motorcycle rental). The ride is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. from Las Vegas Harley-Davidson/Buell. Sports cars are also welcome and the registration fees are the same. All registrants will receive a specially designed "SIA Ride for Education 2012" athletic shirt.
