Matthias Rebellius appointed president of Siemens Building Technologies division

Former global CEO of Fire Safety and Security business unit succeeds Andreas Schierenbeck

Systems integrator Siemens announced Monday that Matthias Rebellius has been named president of its Building Technologies division of the Infrastructure & Cities Sector in the U.S.

According to a statement, Rebellius succeeds Andreas Schierenbeck, who left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Rebellius, who holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of Applied Science in Trier, Germany, has previously held leadership positions at other Business Technologies business units, as well other Siemens companies. He most recently served as global CEO of the Fire Safety and Security business unit in Zug, Switzerland.

"Matthias brings a tremendous amount of engineering, product and technology knowledge as well as business management expertise to the Building Technologies Division. We’re confident that through his leadership the division will continue to expand its innovative total building solutions to make buildings safer, more comfortable, more economical and more efficient while also excelling in all aspects of customer service," Daryl Dulaney, CEO of Siemens Infrastructure & Cities Sector, USA, said in the statement.

The appointment is effective as of June 1, 2012.
