Danaher Corporation, a global science and technology firm that offers products and services to a variety of markets, announced this week that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire San Mateo, Calif.-based VSS Monitoring, a provider of network intelligence optimization solutions and Network Packet Brokers (NPB).
According to a spokesman, VSS Monitoring will join Danaher’s communications group as a stand-alone business once the deal the closes.
Specific terms of the deal, which is expected to close in mid-June, were not released.
"We are very excited to add VSS Monitoring to our portfolio of leading companies," said Jim Lico, executive vice president of Danaher. "VSS brings a very scalable and reliable solution that can overlay the entire network infrastructure to deliver virtualized connectivity between any network node and any tool. VSS will broaden our ability to provide leading technologies to our service provider and enterprise customers to optimize the way data is extracted from high-speed 40G/100G communications networks. As part of our platform, VSS will gain access to our technology, resources and global footprint."
