Move part of company's expansion efforts in key markets

DORMA, a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of access control solutions, announced Monday that it has acquired Florida Door Controls.

According to a statement, Florida Door Controls, which has offices in Tampa and Orlando, is one of the nation’s largest independent automatic door distributors.

DORMA said that the acquisition is an "important element" of their expansion in key strategic markets and that the company will bring them strengths in end-user product sales and services.

"Florida Door Controls joins DORMA Automatics, Crane Revolving Door, and Carolina Door Controls as an integral part of our long-term growth strategy for DORMA Americas," said Wil VandeWiel, president of DORMA Americas. "The automatic door industry continues to provide us with a strong growth platform and one in which we want to accelerate our capabilities."
