IdentiSys acquires divisions from Mountainland Business Systems

Acquisition expands company’s geographic footprint, bolsters its product offerings

Identisys, a Minnesota-based provider of identification, CCTV, tracking and other security solutions, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired the identification, security and presentation divisions from Mountainland Business Systems.

Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Mountainland Business Systems specializes in providing identification technology solutions, such as digital photo ID systems, embossed card personalization systems, smart card and biometric applications, access control, CCTV, and patient identification solutions to the corporate, government, healthcare, education, first responder and emergency management markets.

According to a statement, the addition of the aforementioned divisions to IdentiSys will bolster the company’s product portfolio and expand its geographic footprint.

"This purchase is our tenth identification acquisition in the last seven years and our third acquisition in the past six months. These acquisitions support our constant, targeted, growth strategy to expand our geographic coverage. In addition to geographical expansion, we also focus on constant product expansion to better meet the needs of our customers," said Michael R. Shields, founder and CEO of IdentiSys in the statement. "Our strategy in this case, targeted expansion further west of our headquarters in Minnesota. With the addition of the Mountainland Business Systems Divisions, we now offer sales and on-site services in over 50 percent of the U.S., including Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming and the District of Columbia."
