NICE Systems named world’s top supplier of PSIM software for the second consecutive year

IMS Research recently released a new study ranking the world’s top providers of physical security information management (PSIM) software.  According to Paul Everett, research director for IMS Research, the top five suppliers of PSIM software in the world in 2011 (based on revenues) were: 1. NICE Systems; 2. VidSys; 3. Proximex; 4. CNL Software; and 5. Verint Systems.

"The PSIM market has high barriers to entry, since it is an area that demands the type of resources available only to well-established security solutions providers that have the ability to develop, customize, and deliver complex offerings," Niall Jenkins, manager of video surveillance and security research at IHS (parent company of IMS), said in a statement.

This is the second consecutive year that NICE Systems has been named the world’s top PSIM vendor.

"The IMS Research market share ranking reinforces our position as a top provider of solutions that help enterprises and governments anticipate, manage and mitigate security and safety risks and improve operations. This is the second analyst firm that has recognized our leadership in the PSIM market," said Yaron Tchwella, security president and EVP business operation at NICE. "What differentiates NICE is the ability to transform big data into operational intelligence through correlation, adaptive workflows, and trend analysis, which promote a high level of situational awareness and effective responses."
