Acquisition to help company offer end-to-end physical and logical security solutions

ARES Security, a provider of enterprise security risk management solutions, announced on Thursday that it has acquired a majority ownership interest in security systems integration and situation management software firm The Mariner Group.

According to a statement, the acquisition will help build on Mariner’s rapid expansion and also strengthen ARES’ ability to provide comprehensive, end-to-end physical and logical security solutions. ARES Security will incorporate Mariner’s CommandBridge platform into their suite of risk management software solutions to provide sensor integration and real-time command and control capabilities.

"The acquisition will realize ARES Security’s vision to become the leading provider of advanced situational awareness and risk management solutions worldwide.  CommandBridge, which currently is deployed in the majority of the top ports in the U.S., not only opens new infrastructure security markets for ARES worldwide, but also is key to ARES vision of deploying real-time security optimization solutions," said Ben Eazzetta, president of ARES Security Corporation. "Most importantly, we believe this acquisition benefits the customers of both businesses because it expands the depth and breadth of our security offerings, providing our clients with solutions to plan, prevent detect, assess and respond to all types of incidents."

As a subsidiary of ARES Security, Mariner will operate as a separate division under the Mariner name and continue to provide its’ situational awareness and response management solutions.

"Mariner has reached a tipping point in meeting the high demand of the market to provide, deploy and support the CommandBridge products.  ARES Security’s global reach and vast resources will enable us to meet that demand, expand our offerings to international markets and continue to evolve our products while maintaining our agility and responsiveness," said Stephen D. Dryden, president of Mariner.
