Sorhea, a French-based manufacturer of perimeter security systems in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, announced this week that it has acquired outdoor intrusion sensor maker Protech.
According to a statement, the acquisition of Reno, Nev.-based Protech, will help strengthen Sorhea’s position as in industry leader in perimeter and outdoor security systems worldwide.
“The merger with Protech further increases Sorhea's market share in the USA, Canada and the Americas. The addition of Protech’s line of products and unique sensor technology combined with Sorhea’s complimentary products will provide our clients globally a full range of quality outdoor perimeter products,” said Eric Thord, president of Sorhea’s Technology Group.
"The merger is also expected to permit a much greater penetration in our military, government and U.S. infrastructure markets and will enable Protech to offer a full complement of outdoor perimeter solutions to our present customer base,” added Larry Thomas, the new COO of Protech USA.
Sorhea said it will use Protech's existing facility in Nevada to manufacture and offer service to its North American and Latin American clients.
"The integration of both companies will take place over the next few months. Our clients will continue to receive the same high quality service which they have come to expect," said Thord.
