Company and its Fastlane solution see record growth

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) October 21, 2008 -- Smarter Security Systems, provider of intelligent entrance control and outdoor security solutions, was named as one of the 2008 Fast 50, an annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in central Texas. Based on revenue growth of 123% in the two years ending in 2007, the Austin Business Journal ranked Smarter Security as number 13 on its list of 25 companies with revenue less than $10 million.

"We are proud to be recognized as one of the leading companies in the Austin area," said Jeff Brown, President of Smarter Security Systems. "We have successfully grown our national market share, and in fact, captured market leadership this past year. We are chosen by large corporations, financial institutions, electric utilities, governmental agencies, and others because we deliver what they need - intelligent and cost-effective solutions that provide reliable, advanced levels of security."

Founded in 1992, Smarter Security Systems introduced elegant and intelligent Fastlane optical turnstiles for lobby security. Today, Fastlane is the market leader and provides lobby security for some of the most prestigious and secure buildings across the globe. Expanding to the perimeter or "outer layer" of security in 2006, Smarter Security now offers a comprehensive portfolio of advanced outdoor security products that provide protection from vandalism, unwanted intrusions, and costly crimes such as copper theft.

Fast 50 companies had to be headquartered in central Texas, privately held, and independent organizations. Additionally, revenue had to be at least $500,000 in 2005. Rankings are based solely on revenue growth from 2005 to 2007 and information submitted by nominees is verified by an independent accounting firm.
