Company's fingerprint sensors to be shown in a variety of extreme conditions

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Validity Sensors, Inc., a privately held biometric sensor company specializing in convenient, secure and reliable fingerprint authentication solutions, will showcase the durability of its Fingerprint sensors via its "Hit it. Wet It. Zap It." product demonstrations at the 2009 International CES show in Las Vegas, January 8-11, 2009.

The demonstrations will show Validity’s Fingerprint sensors being used under extreme situations and still work with high accuracy. This level of ruggedness is unmatched in the industry.

"The absence of adequate durability has been a long-standing issue with fingerprint sensors. Consumer devices are prone to being accidentally dropped, splashed with water, and subject to static electricity, which could cause premature or eventual failure of the fingerprint sensor," said Mariel van Tatenhove, VP of Marketing at Validity. "With Validity’s fingerprint sensors, consumers do not have to worry about the resilience of the fingerprint sensors in a real-world environment."

Validity’s fingerprint sensors are based on its LiveFlex Technology, which provides superior durability and industry-leading impact resistance. Validity’s fingerprint solutions are already shipping in numerous notebook PCs and PC peripheral devices offered by companies such as HP, Acer and General Dynamics.

Validity encourages media, analysts and manufacturers of consumer devices to visit them at their suite during CES to see a live demonstration.
