Security companies to be honored at Mexican tradeshow

Companies that have stood out in the Mexican security marketplace during 2008 will be honored for the first time with Awards of Excellence, which will be presented at Expo Seguridad Mexico 2009, Mexico’s premier security trade exhibition.

The Awards of Excellence will pay tribute to companies in five categories of awards that include: Best manufacturer, Best Distribution Company, Best Integration Company, Best Security Guard Company and Best Social Responsibility Initiative - the Mission 500 Award.

Expo Seguridad Mexico will be held April 21-23, 2009 in Centro Banamex in Mexico City.

Voting will be done online through the Expo Seguridad Mexico web page (www.exposeguridadmexico.com). Everyone who has attended the Expo in the past or who has registered to attend the seventh annual Expo Seguridad Mexico in 2009 will receive an email to participate and vote.

Depending on the category, some of the criteria used to select the winner will be based upon:

  • Commitment of ample resources to the Mexican market (manufacturers)
  • Offering a higher level of service to Mexican clients (distributors and Integrators)
  • Contribution to the development of the Mexican market
  • Availability of Certification courses for their clients in Mexico
  • Offering products according to the needs of the Mexican market
  • Investment in the development of their employees and the education of their clients

There is no cost to enter. All companies that have offices or operations in Mexico can qualify including both national and international companies. Companies can be entered in more than one category. Neither the company nor persons inside the company are eligible to vote in that category and for their own company. All votes must be received by March 31, 2009.

Each category winner will receive a trophy, editorial coverage in Ventas de Seguridad and other industry publications, recognition in a special advertisement to be placed in the Expo Seguridad Mexico directory and recognition in a gala cocktail during Expo Seguridad Mexico 2009.

"These awards will help our industry recognize the companies that show leadership and motivate manufacturers to commit more resources to the Mexican market," said Andrea Ferrando, director of marketing for Giprex, the show organizer. "The Awards of Excellence will create a healthy competitiveness, help raise standards and build an incentive for greater professionalism in the security industry."
