Owenby named VP of Finance and Chief Compliance Officer for China Operations

SAN JOSE, CA, November 3, 2008 -- RAE Systems, a leader in delivering innovative sensor solutions to serve industrial, energy, environmental, and government safety markets worldwide, announces the promotion of Michael Ownby to Vice President of Finance and Chief Compliance Officer - China Operations, effective November 1, 2008.

Mr. Ownby will be based in Beijing. He continues to report directly to Randy Gausman, RAE Systems chief financial officer. Ownby joined RAE Systems in 2005 and most recently served as treasurer and corporate secretary responsible for corporate banking, internal audit, insurance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and financial planning and analysis. Prior to joining RAE Systems he founded MRO’s Strategic Services, co-founded DBA Capital Advisory Services, and held executive positions at General Signal Corporation, Entre Computer Centers, Reuters Laboratories, and International Paper. Ownby holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Tennessee and is a licensed certified public accountant.
