Rick Gordon named TSA security director in Illinois

The Transportation Security Administration has named a new head of federal security for nine airports in Illinois including the Quad City International Airport.

TSA officials announced that 28-year law enforcement veteran Rick Gordon has been appointed the new federal security director for the Quad City International Airport and eight other airports in Illinois, the TSA reported.

Gordon, who most recently served as the western area operations officer for security operations at TSA headquarters in Virginia, will direct security at Quad City International Airport, which is the third-busiest commercial airport in Illinois behind O'Hare and Midway international airports in Chicago.

"Rick's background in law enforcement and his experience overseeing federal security operations at several airports will serve him well in this position," Lee Kair, TSA assistant administrator for security operations, said in a statement.
