Zebra launches G-Series line of thermal desktop printers

New printers can be used for a variety of applications

Zebra Technologies has launched the new G-Series line of thermal desktop printers, available in both direct thermal and a combination of direct thermal/thermal transfer versions. The printers have a sleek, compact design that the company reports is the smallest footprint in the 4-inch desktop category today.

The printers are compatible with Zebra's multiple ribbon and labelcombinations, and are ideal for printing labels, receipts, price marking tags, shipping and return labels, boarding passes, ID wristbandsand tags and more.

The Zebra G-Series offers a wide range of connectivity options including 802.11g and Bluetooth wireless, and 10/100 Ethernet for easy network integration. It also offers co-resident native ZPL and EPL programming languages, and six-inches-per-second print speed.

In other news, the company has made its ZebraNet Internal WirelessPlus print server available for use with its PAX40EM print engines.

The server features enhanced 802.11b/g wireless security. Secured within the print engine, the ZebraNet Internal Wireless Plus is theftresistant and features a tethered antenna designed to sit outside the metal printer/applicator for optimized wireless reception and addedprint engine placement flexibility, even around metal objects.
