IronKey expands executive management team

Company appoints industry veterans to drive continued growth

IronKey, maker of the world's most secure flash drive, today announced a series of executive appointments to extend its global leadership. New additions to IronKey's management include two highly regarded security industry executives. Warren Smith joins as senior vice president of engineering, and John Jefferies joins as vice president of product marketing. In addition, Mark McSweeney has been promoted to vice president of manufacturing, and Misha Logvinov has been promoted to vice president of online operations. Lastly, CTO and co-founder Gil Spencer has been appointed to IronKey's board of directors.

These appointments round out the company's impressive executive team as it experiences increased penetration within large enterprises and the government. In fact, a number of key government agencies have recently standardized on the FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified IronKey.

With over a decade of security marketing experience, John Jefferies joins IronKey from RedCannon Security. Prior to this, John held senior positions with, among others, Hewlett Packard, Tandem, Teros and Dascom (acquired by IBM). John obtained his MBA from the Ivy School of Business in London, Ontario and his BA in Business from Michigan State University.

Warren Smith is a seasoned executive with over 30 years in the computer industry, with expertise spanning security, communications, distributed computing and Web development. He has held senior leadership positions with major industry players including Mirapoint, IP Dynamics, SonicWALL, Concentric Network, NetManage and Sun Microsystems.

Mark McSweeney brings over 15 years of experience in technology to IronKey. He previously held management positions at Meyer Sound Laboratories, EndPoints, Kensington Technology Group, Bio-Rad Laboratories, LeeMAH Electronics and Intellitools. Mark holds Bachelors degrees in Business Studies from the University of Limerick, and Business Law and Economics from the Universite de Grenoble.

Misha Logvinov brings to IronKey over ten years of management experience in information technology, operations and security. Prior to IronKey, he spent six years at one of the leading online financial service providers, Yodlee. Previously, Misha held a management position at INTERSHOP Communications. Misha holds a BA in Business Administration and Trade Management from Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Gil Spencer has extensive experience in designing and shipping hardware and software solutions for high-volume consumer electronics. Most recently, he was responsible for next-generation software architecture at Portal Player, the provider of core processors for the Apple iPod. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Genesis, VMLabs, E4 and Apple Computer.
