COPENHAGEN – Milestone Systems, leading global developer of open platform IP video management software, is launching new versions of XProtect Enterprise 6.5 with support for H.264 compression technology and more than a dozen languages. This means that users will get the easy-to-use Milestone interface in their native tongue with more efficient operation of their surveillance systems.
The next versions of XProtect Enterprise (XPE) are being released with support for more languages than ever: Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish, as well as Korean. This valuable functionality covers the elegant Smart Client graphical user interface, online help function, installation procedures and some Remote Clients.
The multiple languages are a real boon for larger installations where the central surveillance system administrator may have no problem with using English in the system setup and maintenance, but local users of the IP video management software would prefer to work in their own language. Daily work procedures become even easier to manage and the security monitoring therefore more effective and responsive.

The new versions of Milestone XProtect Enterprise 6.5 also offer many other advantages for powerful surveillance:
• The latest IP video compression technologies of H.264, MxPEG and MPEG4 ASP mean less data volume on the network without lowering image quality.
• Multi-streaming also optimizes bandwidth: one stream goes from the camera to the server with optimal frame rate and resolution, splitting into two differentiated streams for recording in optimal frame rate and resolution, with viewing in a lower frame rate and resolution.
• Dynamic archiving allows stored video data to span multiple disks automatically, maximizing the use of less expensive storage media. Disks for archiving are simply nominated and the system only uses the storage as needed.
• Two-way audio enables operators to communicate verbally while viewing people remotely - this is especially useful when operating a gate or entranceway.
• Integrate the video with analytics, alarms, access control, or point-of-sale systems.
Milestone will be demonstrating XProtect Enterprise 6.5 at stand 19171 in the IFSEC security trade show May 12-15. XPE is available now from authorized Milestone partners in over 90 countries.
