Profile Series v.S2 products eliminate costs associated with traditional hardwired systems

The Profile Series v.S2 products from SARGENT integrate WiFi technology, a Prox reader, optional keypad and monitoring capabilities at the door. The v.S2 works with any open architecture access control system, providing centrally managed control without many of the costs, labor and infrastructure upgrades associated with a traditional hardwired system.

In addition to the ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 hardware, v.S2 products incorporate an HID-compatible 125 kHz proximity reader as well as sensors that monitor door position and request-to-exit activity. All communications to and from the locksets are conducted via open standard 802.11 b/g WiFi infrastructure eliminating the need to run cables from the door to the access control system. Power is supplied by off-the-shelf batteries with an option to hard power the devices in remote locations.

Maximize Responsiveness and Uptime

By incorporating a 2000-user database and 10,000 event transaction log, v.S2 products are able to provide instantaneous transaction responsiveness, eliminating the latency commonly found in competing wireless locksets. This feature also cuts costs by eliminating downstream components and critical wiring terminations. At the same time, system uptime is maximized by removing potential points of failure common to other systems.

Cost Savings

Consolidating all networked access components into a wireless lockset provides several ways to lower costs. These include reduced labor and dependence on trades, simplified project management and the ability to leverage existing infrastructure. A typical hard wired access controlled opening takes on average eight hours to install and make operational. By contrast, a v.S2 opening takes about an hour and can be installed by a single technician.

By utilizing open-standard 802.11 b/g WiFi infrastructure into the v.S2 product design, integrators can leverage an end user’s existing wireless network or simply build a network with standard off-the-shelf products.

Advanced Data Security

The v.S2 supports the use of standard encryption techniques, such as WEP, WPA and LEAP to provide advanced network security. The 128-bit encryption key also changes after each exchange to further protect credential data and secure commands such as "access granted" to maintain high-level security.

Options

The v.S2 is available on SARGENT’s ANSI/BHMA commercial Grade 1 10 Line cylindrical lock, 8200 Series mortise lock and 80 Series exit devices. Additional options include the Studio Collection and Coastal Series designer levers as well as MicroShield™ antimicrobial finish.
