HPTCOVER protects against accidental system shutdowns

Honeywell Power Products has introduced a protective enclosure for AC plug-in transformers to help security installers avoid the all-too-common problem of accidental system shutdowns. The HPTCOVER mounts over any duplex wall receptacle and can be screwed shut to ensure the transformer remains securely affixed to the outlet.

"Countless installers have told us that incidents of plug-in transformers bumped and loosened from wall outlets have become a common problem," said Gene Pecora, Honeywell Power Products' General Manager.

The sudden loss of power results in security system shut-down, causing installers to make emergency site visits only to re-plug transformers. At the same time, end users are showing more frustration over security system down times and costly service calls.

Honeywell’s plug-in transformer enclosure is reportedly the only one of its type on the security market today. While offering an additional level of power protection to any modern video, intrusion, fire or access control system, the HPTCOVER is made to install quickly. Three convenient half-inch conduit knockouts in the bottom and back allow the low voltage wire to exit easily to the alarm panel.
