New Toshiba IK-6420A camera features higher, more detail-rich resolution

IRVINE, CA, January 3, 2008 Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products, a recognized leader in security monitoring systems, today debuted its new IK-6420A analog surveillance camera incorporating extremely-sharp 540 TV line horizontal resolution, along with legacy features of its popular IK-6410A camera such as advanced 10-bit Digital Signal Processing (DSP), 50 dB signal-to-noise ratio, backlight compensation, and sensitive day/night functionality to deliver clearer video images regardless of lighting conditions.

A cost-effective choice for budget-minded customers, the IK-6420A is ideal for general-purpose CCTV installations, such as retail outlets, parking lots and schools, to achieve superior scene coverage and subject identification. In addition, its low profile permits use of smaller, less expensive enclosures, offering significant savings on wiring and mounting costs.

Accurate color reproduction and high image quality are critical in every security application. To assure the best results, the IK-6420Aąs 540-line resolution is aided by 10-bit DSP technology with extended dynamic range, minimizing color noise when viewing complex or patterned subjects. Additional image refinement features include auto white balance (2600° K to 10000° K), backlight compensation to prevent image shadowing, AES shutter control (1/60 to 1/100,000 sec), and minimum subject illumination down to 0.2 lux @ F=1.0.

The compact IK-6420A measures 2.46 (W) x 1.97 (H) x 4.57 (D) and weighs just 2.46 oz for easier installation. Toshiba offers ceiling mount brackets, wall mount brackets, and outdoor housings specially designed for the camera design.
