Inovonics Develops Software Tool to Simplify Security System Integration

SDK enables faster time-to-market and lower development costs

LOUISVILLE, Colo. -- Inovonics, the leader in commercial-grade wireless security, today announced the availability of its Software Development Kit (SDK) to greatly simplify the interface between OEM software applications and the Inovonics EchoStream wireless security product line.

Inovonics' SDK is designed to shorten software development cycles and speed time-to-market for Inovonics' OEM partners.

"With no prior knowledge of EchoStream or the Inovonics SDK, our software integrated into an EchoStream network in less than two hours, something that would have otherwise taken weeks," said Scott Thomas, Principal Software Engineer, Cerebral Syntax of Boulder, Colo.

The SDK simplifies integration of a wide range of life-safety, security and monitoring devices into the end-user's custom software application. Future releases will support submetering, environmental, location and directed network devices.

"A wireless security installation already saves integrators time and money compared to wired systems," said Mark Jarman, Inovonics' president. "The capabilities of next-gen wireless networks are expanding exponentially; in order to take full advantage of those benefits the system should be fully integrated with existing software controls. SDK makes that easier than it's ever been."

The Software Development Kit compounds the savings inherent to wireless systems by allowing companies to develop better solutions in less time, and at lower product development costs.

SDK is available in an evaluation version at no charge or as a fully functional SDK license.
