New embedded DVR, IP-alarm communicator, alarm and security software showcased

LAS VEGAS, ISC West, Booth #10063, April 2, 2008 — VEREX announced today the launch of three new security products, the VeDVR, an embedded digital video recorder, the HSC-IP alarm monitoring solution and an upgraded version of Director 4.72, the company's integrated security software. Verex is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Verex's new VeDVR is the company's next generation standalone video product. It's an embedded, real time operating system that utilizes leading edge H.264 video codec technology to provide superior video quality and reduce bandwidth.

The HSC-IP alarm monitoring solution will provide high security encrypted alarm signaling over the internet from Verex's Monitor xL security system to a central station. This will enable customers to replace expensive line based solutions with a more cost effective solution using existing high speed internet connections.

Upgrades to Verex's Director Software include the ability to integrate with both the VeDVR and the HSC-IP receiver. The new software will also provide customers with enhancements like increased ISM/XL panel capacity and support for Microsoft VISTA Standard.
