Tom Browning brings criminal investigation background, will also handle compliance and licensing

AlliedBarton, a top provider of staffed security services, has a new chief security officer and vice president of compliance. Tom Browning will serve as an internal security resource for the firm and will work on compliance issues like state licensing for its security services.

Browning joins the Pennsylvania-based security provider from the criminal investigation of the Environmental Protection Agency, where he has been a special agent for over 10 years. Before working with the EPA, he was with the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service's Fraud Unit and Foreign Counterintelligence. His background also includes time as a criminal investigator for the Montgomery County (Pennsylvania) District Attorney's office, and as an adjunct professor focusing on criminal justice at Villanova University. He holds a Master's degree from University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton.
