Installation at Cobo Center showcases a complete IP platform with ProCurve Networking by HP

Las Vegas, NV and Ridgefield Park, NJ, April 5, 2006 -- DVTel Inc., multiple award-winning market leader in the development and delivery of intelligent security solutions over IP networks, today announced that the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan utilized their recently-upgraded DVTel intelligent Security Operations Center to provide critical surveillance and security during the Super Bowl Week of festivities held at the Center in February. The Cobo Center functioned as the headquarters for the press and the site for many high-profile media events. Integrated Media Technologies, based in Detroit, served as the project integrator and installer.

“From the Winter Olympics, to the Commonwealth Games, to events held in conjunction with the Super Bowl, DVTel is consistently chosen to meet the security demands for prominent venues and to work in cooperation with all levels of law enforcement,” said Eli Gorovici, DVTel President and CEO.

“The Cobo Center is also an important showcase for our ground-breaking iSOC Partner Program, which we have been rolling out along with ProCurve Networking by HP. We believe so strongly in the performance and cost effectiveness of the DVTel iSOC open standards platform, that we offer our end users the network for free. The Cobo Center joined this program, and the performance of their security platform was able to meet the rigorous conditions and demands during Super Bowl week.”

"DVTel and ProCurve Network have collaborated on numerous customer installations,” commented John McHugh, VP and General Manager, ProCurve Networking by HP. “The DVTel solution provides customers with advanced video capabilities utilizing ProCurve’s reliable and open standards-based networking solutions. In our experience the solution deploys easily and operates robustly on our infrastructure.”

The Cobo installation comprises over 100 cameras, connected to the Center’s network for central monitoring and recording, as well for access by multiple remote monitoring stations. The multicast feature for surveillance video was particularly crucial during the high-security Super Bowl week. The ProCurve networking equipment met and exceeded the high demands placed on the system by several different law enforcement agencies and other users.

The Cobo Center is the centerpiece of downtown Detroit's Civic Center and in addition to the recent Super Bowl events, it plays host to an extraordinary number of important conventions and meetings including the North American International Auto Show, the Michigan Democratic Party State Convention, the Building and Design Expo, the National Head Start Association Conference, among many others.
