The AV5100 is the World’s first 5 megapixel (2592 x 1944) digital video camera providing ultra high-resolution video at 15 frames per second. This meets the challenges of the most demanding surveillance applications. Scaling down to 1280 x 1024 gives 30fps.
The high resolution and crystal clear imagery allows the AV5100 to substitute up to twelve analogue cameras; thereby reducing the total cost of installation, power is drawn from a low cost Power-over-Ethernet switch. The AV5100 is based on proprietary massively-parallel MegaVideo image processing technology and this provides functionality unavailable in other high-resolution cameras. Advanced features include concurrent transmission of different frame formats and simultaneous delivery of multiple zoomed and full field of view video streams at full frame rates. The software also allows for post-event zoom-in capability from archived footage, concurrent full field of view and high-quality zoom.
Also offered is instantaneous, no-moving-parts pan and tilt that is required for tracking of fast moving targets. This type of pan/tilt/zoom is dramatically different from what is currently available on low-resolution analogue cameras. For example, if you want to watch the motorway and identify the license plate on a certain vehicle with this camera, the resolution is so high that you can take a snapshot of the motorway and zoom after the event. The high resolution can be zoomed so that you can read the license plates of every car in the snapshot. Utilizing this scalable and flexible proprietary architecture allows this powerful-networked camera to be priced comparably to mainstream analog cameras
The AV5100 starts the next generation of ultra high-resolution networked cameras. By combining digital flexibility with powerful processing this cameras offers security controllers enhanced video capabilities.
