OnGuard OpenAccess Alliance member companies will be able to automatically receive all OnGuard software updates and more

LAS VEGAS, ISC West, Booth # 15087, March 28, 2007 — Lenel Systems International announced changes today to the company’s OnGuard OpenAccess™ Alliance Program that will provide new opportunities for program members, to the ultimate benefit of customers, value-added resellers and consultants. Lenel, a global leader in software and integrated security systems for government and commercial markets, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Under the revised program OnGuard OpenAccess Alliance member companies will be able to automatically receive all OnGuard software updates, decrease their development support costs and substantially decrease factory certification costs.

Program members will also earn distinction and benefits in relation to their commitment to continuous certification and documentation. In addition, Lenel has created a special tier for members that provide solutions that complement the OnGuard portfolio. Any program member that continuously certifies its product for use with each successive OnGuard release will earn Partner status. A Partner that provides complementary solutions, such as logical security, access provisioning, emergency communications and intercom systems, will be designated a Premier Partner.

“A wide variety of providers have joined the OnGuard OpenAccess Alliance Program, and customers, resellers and consultants continue to encourage program expansion,” said Joshua Phillips, Director of Strategic Alliances for Lenel. “The OnGuard application programming interfaces (APIs) are easy to use and are improving with every release. Several companies have developed OnGuard interfaces as part of their initial product roadmaps. Others have been joining the program proactively, anticipating the benefits of integration. The broader the solution becomes, the greater the value is for our mutual customers,” Phillips added.

About the OnGuard OpenAccess Alliance Program Lenel launched the OnGuard OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP) in 1999 to promote open architecture and to provide customers with unlimited opportunities for systems integration. The program now has 35 member companies, each of which is a system manufacturer that has utilized OnGuard APIs to develop an interface to the Lenel OnGuard platform. To date, more than 100 customers have taken advantage of specific OnGuard interfaces developed by OAAP members.
