Innovative ID card holder prevents contactless smart card skimming

Las Vegas, NV (September 24, 2007) - J.A.M. Plastics, Inc., is introducing their new Secure Badgeholder at ASIS this year. Designed as a secure badge carrier for today's popular smart cards, the Secure Badgeholder prevents data skimming of information stored on PIV cards, CAC cards, and other contactless smart cards.

"With the introduction of Secure Badgeholder, we are addressing the growing problem of ID theft with a practical and cost-efficient solution," said Mitja Linss, Channel Marketing Manager, J.A.M. Plastics. "Now contactless cards can be as secure and as convenient as they were designed to be with added peace of mind that embedded data is protected."

A rigid badge holder, the Secure Badgeholder, developed by Identity Stronghold, provides a barrier to unauthorized wireless communications through the contactless interface found on today's smart cards. The only shielded badge holder designed to allow a contactless card to be read without being removed from the holder, Secure Badgeholder has convenient activation tabs which can be squeezed to permit the card to communicate with the reader. As soon as the tabs are released, the smart card is shielded again, giving the wearer full control of who reads the card and when it is read.

Secure Badgeholder is also designed to hold PIV cards securely in place, yet allows easy, one-handed removal of the card from the badge holder when necessary. The Secure Badgeholder protects the card and is weather- and water-resistant.
