DRAPER, Utah, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- WiLife announced today that the LukWerks Digital Video Surveillance System won Best New Technology and Best Product: Hardware at RetailVision's "Best of RetailVision Awards." LukWerks was also nominated for Best Product: Digital Home and Best Product: Peripheral. The "Best of RetailVision Awards"(TM) recognizes superior products and business innovation in the consumer technology channel and were handed out at last week's 2006 RetailVision event.
"The awards are voted directly by the top 100 Retailers and Distributors who are the market leaders in consumer technology," said Pete Prentice, senior global director for RetailVision. "I believe these awards truly represent the best of the new products and strategic initiatives that are driving growth in both the North American and Latin American retail channels."
LukWerks provides complete video surveillance that is easy to set up and use for home and small business owners. The PC-based system can be set up in less than 30 minutes -- users simply install software and plug in cameras. The cameras use existing power lines to send the security video to a PC, where the software enables users to monitor live video, record security footage, manage camera functions and remotely view cameras through Internet-connected PCs and mobile devices.
"We are honored that retailers selected us for these two awards and for nominating us in the two other categories," said Andrew Hartsfield, CEO of WiLife. "LukWerks is an exceptional product that secures people's homes and businesses, and these awards validate our efforts."
WiLife is expanding LukWerks' availability through distribution channels, and, for the first time, makes video surveillance available to the mainstream consumer. Currently available at RadioShack and Fry's Electronics, LukWerks will be widely available through additional retailers for the holiday season.
LukWerks has received numerous awards, including an Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Award Honoree at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nev., and was selected as a finalist in the Stoel Rives Utah Innovation Awards. In addition, LukWerks has been featured in national publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Fortune Small Business.
