Products meet needs for more advanced surge protection and video transmission technologies

SYOSSET, N.Y. - Porta Systems Corp., a leader in protection and connection products for the worldwide telecommunications market, announces three additional products to its Security product line:

Mini Video Balun

Allows a CCTV video signal to be transmitted via cost-effective UTP ("Unshielded Twisted Pair") cable up to 1000 ft. (305m). This Mini Video Balun is equipped with Insulation Displacement Contacts ("IDC") snap terminals eliminating the need for tools during installation. The Mini Video Balun has a unique compact design that allows installation in tight spaces.

Rack Mount Video Hub

Allows up to 16 CCTV video feeds to be transmitted via cost-effective UTP cable up to 1000 ft. (305m). Porta's Rack Mount Hubs have built-in surge protection and are also equipped with IDC snap terminals eliminating the need for tools during installation. The Rack Mounted Video Hub has a low compact profile (one (1) rack unit high), and the EIA hole spacing is 1.25".

Rack Mount Coax Surge Protector

Protects expensive CCTV equipment from damaging power surges and can be used with both analog and digital video security systems. The Rack Mount Coax Surge Protector can protect up to 16 video feeds transmitted via coax cable and has a low compact profile (one (1) rack unit high), and the EIA hole spacing is 1.25".

These products protect expensive video surveillance equipment from voltage spikes, and/or allow full motion color or monochrome video transmission via cost-effective UTP cable instead of more expensive coax cable to support the security industry in meeting their changing needs.

These products also expand Porta Systems security product portfolio which was first announced on April 23, 2006 and included a Video Balun Combiner, Video Balun, Video Hub, Coax Surge Protector, UTP Surge Protectors and Coax/UTP Surge Protectors.

The fast growing security market's move to cost-effective UTP cable from expensive coax cable continues to drive the need for new and innovative surge protection and video transmission technologies that can achieve higher video surveillance system reliability and exceptional video quality via cost-effective UTP cable.

All of Porta Systems security products are dedicated to improving the economics and reliability of CCTV video surveillance systems. For more information on Porta Systems complete line of Security products visit www.portasystems.com.
