Sag Harbor, NY (June 23, 2006) – Dortronics Systems Inc. has enhanced the application versatility of commonly found Piezo door control switches with the recent introduction of their new series of illuminated, stainless steel Piezo Switches. With their rugged construction and responsive Piezo actuators, the 5277-PZL Series Piezo Switches can readily be installed in a wide range of conventional and demanding environments.

Application flexibility is built into the new 5277 Series Illuminated Piezo Switches, including a selectable on/off switch, red/green LED illumination status ring and an adjustable time delay of 1 to 40 seconds. The units can be used to control automatic doors, electric strike locks or magnetic locks as well as remote bypass (REX) input of an access control system. They can also be used to shunt an alarm system to allow egress from a secured area.
For installation convenience, Dortronics’ Piezo Switches mount directly to standard U.S. single gang switch boxes and include both normally closed and normally open contacts. Additionally, the units have input voltages of 12 to 24V DC.
Attractively designed with beveled edges on all exposed surfaces, Dortronics 5277 Series Illuminated Piezo Switches are furnished with standard slotted head screws as well as Pin in Hex tamper resistant screws. Both screw sets are stainless steel for corrosion protection. Custom engraving options, including text and color, are available in addition to the standard engraving.
