Elena and Rudy Prokupets to leave for "other opportunities"

FARMINGTON, Conn. – UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) and leading global supplier of fire safety and security services, today announced the appointment of Dave Cunningham as vice president and general manager of Lenel Systems International.

Cunningham will be responsible for Lenel’s daily operations and ensuring the company continues developing and deploying its cutting-edge digital video monitoring technology. Cunningham also will focus on strengthening Lenel’s already strong position in the United States and expanding it globally.

Cunningham joins Lenel from UTC’s Hamilton Sundstrand business unit, where he has worked for 20 years. Most recently, he served as general manager, Customer Services Americas, and was responsible for Hamilton Sundstrand Overhaul and Repair facilities and Field Service resources in North and South America. He also completed the prestigious MIT Sloan Fellows program in June 2004.

Founded by Elena and Rudy Prokupets in 1991, Lenel developed into a major player in the high-end security market. Both Elena and Rudy will remain with Lenel to assist with Cunningham’s transition before they pursue other opportunities and interests.
