Alltel executive John Koch to lead ADT North America Operations

BOCA RATON, Fla. - ADT Security Services, Inc., a part of Tyco Fire & Security, today announced the appointment of John B. Koch as chief operating officer for ADT North America. In this role, Koch will oversee all business operations -- including more than 200 sales offices, seven customer monitoring centers and 22,000 employees in the United States and Canada.

Koch, 43, most recently served as president of Wireline Services for Alltel, a customer-focused communications company with more than 15 million customers and nearly $10 billion in annual revenue.

Koch has been with Alltel-related companies since 1991, where his most recent responsibilities included wireline local telephone, long distance, Internet, broadband data and directory operations. Previously, he was president of the Southeast region where he managed wireless and wireline operations and sales.

Much of Koch's professional experience has been in general management, marketing and operations in wireless communications with Alltel heritage companies 360-degree Communications, Sprint Cellular and Centel Cellular. He began his career with The Analytic Sciences Corporation, working on the Strategic Defense Initiative program. Koch holds bachelor's and master's degrees in systems engineering from the University of Virginia.

"John has spent the majority of his career driving sales, marketing and operations for both the wireless and wireline businesses at Alltel. His technical expertise, management ability and record of organizational and operational excellence will help propel ADT North America's future growth," said Dave Robinson, president of Tyco Fire & Security.

Koch will work closely with Michael Snyder, whose responsibilities were expanded last October to become the first-ever president of ADT Worldwide.

"While Mike Snyder is focusing on strategic growth initiatives, John will provide the leadership needed to continue to improve the day-to-day customer experience and operational efficiencies in ADT North America," Robinson said. "We believe this is the structure needed to build on the power of the ADT brand."
