Affordable physical access terminal provides flexible threat protection

ALEXANDRIA, VA-- (MARKET WIRE) - Sagem Morpho, a leader in biometric access control and identity verification products, is pleased to announce the MorphoAccess100 Series, a versatile new line of biometric access control products. These indoor/outdoor smart card, biometric terminals are simple to install and compatible with legacy or new access control systems.

Easy to use and competitively priced, these compact terminals incorporate a high-performance optical sensor. Users can tailor access requirements according to different levels of security from identification only to multifactor authentication as well as an adjustable False Acceptance Rate (FAR).

“While Sagem Morpho delivers state-of-the-art biometric technology, we recognize the value to our customers of economic, fast and easy to use security products,” said James Conniff, Director of Access Control Solutions at Sagem Morpho. “As use of biometric identification becomes more prevalent in government and civil identification, as well as commercial and consumer applications, Sagem Morpho’s Fingerprint Terminals are well-positioned to meet a wide range of needs and functions.”

There are currently three models in the MorphoAccess 100 Series, covering identification requirements for up to 500 people:

- MA 100 for identification mode only, - MA 110 supports HID iClass 16K2 or 16K16 contactless smart cards, - MA 120 supports MIFARE 1K or 4K and DESFIRE contactless smart cards.

MorphoAccess 100 Series

The MA100 model operates exclusively in identification mode, offering storage capacity of two biometric templates per person for up to 500 individuals. The database can either be downloaded via the network or via a USB interface. The MA110 and MA120 models can operate in either identification or multifactor authentication mode by reading contactless smart cards. The biometric data can be either stored on the card or on the terminal. The 100 Series can operate as a standalone security system, or integrated into a network wide security platform via the MEMS supervision software (MorphoAccess Enrollment & Management System).

MorphoAccess 100 and the 200, 300 Series

Designed to reinforce physical access security, the MorphoAccess 100 Series is fully compatible with the current MorphoAccess Series 200 and 300 models which allow the management of larger databases (up to 48,000 people). All MorphoAccess models have enhanced security features including internal capture, processing and data encryption. Advanced embedded software achieves 1:1 verification in less than 1 second and 1:N identification in less than 1.5 seconds. In addition, all models offer standard interface such as Wiegand or Ethernet simplifying installation into existing or new access control systems. The MA120 joins the MA221D as terminals able to meet the strict requirements of FIPS 201, established by NIST, for the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) program applicable to all Federal employees and contractors.
