Network access control provider adds full support for Omnikey smart card readers

Minneapolis, MN - Sig-Tec Corporation, a provider of logical access desktop and laptop solutions, has incorporated full support for the OMNIKEY CardMan 5121 contactless smart card readers into its suite of logical access products.

Sig-Tec Corporation is pleased to announce the addition of integrated functional support for OMNIKEY'S newest authentication device, the CardMan 5121, into Sig-Tec's complete line of enhanced security logical access software solutions for Windows desktops and laptops. Sig-Tec logical access solutions feature a full replacement GINA (graphical identification and authentication) that provides greater security, full multifactor authentication, a choice of authentication devices, and extra features not found elsewhere.

The CardMan 5121 is based on a 13.56 MHz contactless smart card RFID interface that is compliant with ISO specifications 14443 A and B and 15693. The reader works with a variety of 13.56 MHz contactless smart cards, including iCLASS by HID. Organizations with existing contactless smart card infrastructures can now implement Sig-Tec's secure desktop log-on solutions without having to re-badge their existing cardholders.

The dual interface feature of the reader also allows organizations to use contact-based smart cards on the same desktop reader. Simply use Sig-Tec's Single Private Desktop, Multiple Private Desktops, Audit Server, or Software Developers' Kit products and you are ready for secure access to the desktop.
