State of the art 16 channel security DVR makes professional grade security available to everyone

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. – (January 3, 2008) – Swann Communications, the global leader in security monitoring solutions, is proud to announce their most sophisticated and easy to use DVR to date, the DVR 16-8500AI. Swann's new DVR features the latest in sophisticated security technology like a 3D operating system, H.264 level compression, high speed search engine and Pentaplex operation for simultaneous live monitoring, recording, playback, archiving and remote image access.

Swann's DVR16-8500AI contains many features that are found in professional security systems but is available at a more affordable price. The DVR's intuitive 'DMX' 3D operating system displays, easy to use menu system and a USB port mouse operation makes navigation a breeze. Searching through hours and days of video can be tedious so Swann's latest DVR contains a built-in, high speed Search Engine that can search through video up to 128x the normal speed of the recording.

The DVR16-8500AI features H.264 level video compression, which allows you to see more detail on screen, view large files over the web or network, and take up less storage space compared to other DVRs on the market. The DVR16-8500AI also features internet connectivity for remote viewing, but this intelligent DVR has an added advantage of automatically detecting the user's IP address. The DVR16-8500AI contains a large 250GB Seagate® hard drive that can record up to one month of video footage continuously from 16 cameras. Backing up video is a breeze via either a CDR/RW drive or USB port located at the front of the DVR.

"The DVR 16-8500AI is the most feature rich and easy to use DVR that Swann engineers have ever designed," remarked Guy Pithie, Swann Communication's Vice President North America. "You should not have to be a seasoned security professional to utilize the latest security technology in your home or business. This DVR accomplishes the uncommon feat of making commercial grade surveillance technology readily available to everyone."

The DVR 16-8500AIhas a MSRP of $1,499 and is available at Fry's Electronics, with more retailers soon to follow.
