Easy-to-install unimode panels act as PA system for emergency and non-emergency use

Boca Raton, Fla. -- ADT Security Services Inc., a unit of Tyco Fire & Security, today introduced two Unimode fire alarm panels that offer ease of installation, service and monitoring. The fire detection panels, the first to meet the ninth edition of the UL 864 fire alarm control unit and accessories standard, were developed by Tyco Fire & Security to the specifications of experienced ADT sales, service and installation professionals.

The entry-level Unimode panel is a conventional five-zone fire alarm panel expandable to 10 zones and was developed for small stand-alone buildings, including schools, churches and small office buildings. The mid-level Unimode panel is an addressable panel capable of monitoring up to 200 zones or individual points and was developed for larger facilities including strip malls and high rise buildings.

According to Mike Snyder, president of ADT Security Services, the new panels were developed based on customer requests for more simplified fire alarm systems.

“ADT has years of experience integrating fire, life-safety and security systems,” Snyder said. “Based on feedback from our customers, the engineers at Tyco Fire & Security developed this exclusive product to meet their needs.”

The new panels are programmable via multi-function keypad or personal computer and offer a stand-alone voice panel that can be used to quickly and efficiently notify facility occupants of an evacuation or as a public address system in non-emergency situations.
