API's SecurALL Access Control Solution Goes Live at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center

SecurALL is first of three API solutions to be implemented at St. Vincent

HARTFORD, Wis. -- API Software, Inc. announced today that its SecurALL access control solution is implemented and in use at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, Santa Fe, N.M. The SecurALL go live is the first phase in a multifaceted implementation of API's Payrollmation time and attendance solution, and its ActiveStaffer staffing/scheduling solution.

The three API solutions are replacing outdated technology that lacked the integration required for the systems to fully share data for comprehensive reports, and resulted in redundant data entry for the St. Vincent staff. The integrated solutions will enable St. Vincent to improve security levels and boost employee efficiency. The Payrollmation go live occurred in August, and the ActiveStaffer implementation is planned for 2006.

"Other time and attendance and access control vendors didn't offer a complete suite of solutions or provide the level of integration that API does," said Karen Schroeder, a St. Vincent project manager who headed the implementation. "Additionally, API's solutions are specifically designed to handle the unique functionality required by today's healthcare organizations, such as immediately notifying staff of security breaches. And, removing facility access for any individual is accomplished across all systems with a single configuration change, rather than having our staff enter the information into multiple systems."

SecurALL gives organizations the power to track and regulate access throughout the facility in real-time, so security personnel always maintain control of sensitive areas. Comprehensive security functionality is combined with simplified access procedures for employees. One quick swipe of their badge allows each employee appropriate access to pre-approved destinations. The system can accommodate visiting physicians, contract workers, even fathers on maternity wards. Extensive reporting features allow the organization to conduct internal security reviews and help organizations comply with the reporting requirements in Joint Commission accreditation. In addition, SecurALL tightly integrates with other API solutions, enabling organizations to more effectively manage their labor resources.

"St. Vincent realizes the value of having multiple integrated solutions share information," said Luis Garcia, API president and CEO. "This integration provides the richly detailed reports that are necessary for executives to gain the most efficiency from their labor resources, boost security levels and improve the profitability of their organizations," said Luis Garcia, API president and CEO.
